Oh my

Life is rarely dull for me and this dang and blast it RA.
woke with severe chest pain in the morning
Held on for a brief time dosed up to the eye balls so we could see our special young lady in her unit
Then my eldest went to my sisters and littlun went with my mum and we went to A and E

By then, I couldn't sit up straight and breathing hurt so straight into majors where there was a queue

I had some EEG , blood pressures etc
Then that nasty blood gases one in the wrist

The standard bloods no longer include an esr and crp so no idea how the ra is doing actually
Had a chest X-ray

The good news is my breathing is shallow and fast but the ticker is keeping up. I don't have obvious infection but ask can't cough they are giving me antibiotics and dehydracodiene

I opted to come home
They had so many elderly very sick patients.
No time really to see me or sort out the pain.

I'd rather be home
So I promised to rest at home

The pain is pretty rough
I thought I'd had costocondritis before but the hospital explain that this is costo with the rheumatoid complication of pleuritis.
Not heard of that one before have you?

At least that means Richard has cooked me a lovely tea and Bernice didn't miss mummy in the night :-)

Feeling a bit wobbly at the suddenness of it all....

Wondering if the pain is still so bad Monday if I. Should try bothering the gp? Or rheumatology helpline?

Hmmmm

Dear Jenni,

I just read your post. I'm so sorry you are in pain and poorly.

As you said, the suddenness of it must have been a lot to cope with.

I hope you are feeling better again very soon.

Warm thoughts,

Fiona

Jenni, that sounds awful. Really hope you feel better soon.

If you're wondering tomorrow whether to see gp just do it.
I always find if I'm wondering I should do it otherwise it plays on my mind once they've shut in the evening!

Big hugs

Sarah

Oh dear Jenni, I`d certainly bother one of them if the pain is still bad in the morning. I`ve not heard of pleuritis, but I have had pleurisy, so I know it is definitely not nice.

Feel better soon,

Kathleen x

Hi Jenni

Sorry to hear you have this too, it never stops does it?!

I'm currently sitting up at night as I can't lie down due to similar pain. I've been on antibiotics for chest and secondary infections going back to Christmas and this is the aftermath.

Like Kathleen I have had pleurisy and my rib/chest pain alway recurs in the same area, though I did break 3 ribs coughing on the other side - pain is similar! With pleurisy they usually hear a definite pleural 'crackle' or 'rub' which confirms the diagnosis.

Rest, warm wheat bags and sitting up is all I can recommend along with the big gun painkillers. It will go eventually and I really hope it does soon for you. You are covered with the antibiotics to prevent it getting worse, so I hope that one course does the trick for you.

Hope you are getting some sleep tonight:-)......If not I'm right there with you in thoughts,
Take care,
Love Lizxx

So sorry Jenni to read all of this. A few days ago I popped on the forum and read about your new registrar and what was happening, was so pleased for you, didn't have time to reply to your post and now I read this. You did a blog once calling yourself the Wonky Warrior, well you certainly are a Warrior, fighting everything that you come up against and I know you will fight this as well.

Time to dust off the Red Boots I think.

Thinking about you and hoping things are improving

Love

Paula xx

Hi all
I've lost my post !

Basically updates are that the gp says the pain seems to be affecting the chest wall
If still sick come back next week
In case I suddenly get a rash- he's given me shingles tablets
But really it's probably immune related.

Thanks so very very much for the replies
They mean a great deal!

I'm having a go at a new website or 2 pin interest is today's project. Think I've got 3 boards. It's fun. You choose things you are interested in and add them to your interest board. I've found lots of craft things on there but there's lots!
I'm still wonkywarrior Paula! I'm twittering too.
At least it keeps the grey cells going

What would we do without computers eh?

I so appreciate the posts
I feel supported and actually feeling a little low today.

Hello Jane.... What a surprise it's calamity Jane striking again.
It is funny!

I read it going ow, don't laugh it , ow, hurts! Lol

Heh heh heh.
The dominos is nice though
My hubby richard and Michael have them when I go into hospital, even Bernice likes those. I prefer Pizza Hut but they aren't as fussy!
I leave all these instructions of foods to have and what to do.
I may as well just leave the take away menus and a phone

Were you trying to hold the cupboard up and get the thingy out of the oven at the same time?

Lol
(Ow, don't ooooh, ow, laugh, ow!)
